Elm

Welcome to the Elm Class Page!

Hello,

I’m Mrs Ralph and I teach in Elm class (Year 6) with Mrs Edwards. I look forward ensuring that the children, in their final year at Glapton, make awesome memories, by learning through discovery, enabling them to be inspired for their future beyond their time with us. I am also the English Lead in school, as well as a KS2 Writing Moderator for the Local Authority.

During History today (17.11.21), we had a visit from a member of the local community to talk to us about her experiences of WWII. During the war, Lily lived in Merseyside, Liverpool, which was one of the areas most affected (due to being near the docks) by air raids. Lily was ten at the time and her and her two younger siblings were evacuated to Wales in order to try and keep them safe. We took part in a question and answer session, whereby we were able to ask about her experiences of being an evacuee, how she felt at the time and how the war affected her and her family.
