Our Year 5 and 6 library leaders play an important role in promoting a love of reading across the school. At lunchtime, they read with children in KS1 and EYFS, wearing their personalised hi-vis vests so they can be easily spotted. They also help keep our library tidy and well-organised, making sure it’s an inviting and accessible space for everyone.
As part of their role, they carry out a range of activities throughout the year to ensure the library offers a wide variety of books that appeal to all readers. They consult with their peers to help decide on new purchases, and as passionate readers themselves, they share recommendations and write reviews to inspire others. Their mission is simple: to make sure every child enjoys reading regularly and becomes a ‘reader for life.’
