Welcome to the Willow Class Page!

I’m Mr Payne and I teach Willow Class in Year 1. In Willow Class we love to use the colourful side of our brain where it is safe to make mistakes, to learn from those mistakes and to never give up.

P.E – Is on a Tuesday afternoon. Please provide P.E kits in drawstring bags.

Maths – We are currently investigating 10. We are counting forwards and backwards from a given number. We are also learning how to explain our answers and why we think an answer might be true or false. We use why? alot.

English – In English we have been completing work based on The Gruffalo and working towards a character description. We have found out what nouns are and that adjectives help describe a noun. The children have been changing the Gruffalo to have dirty teeth and brittle horns.

Our creative Friday’s including learning about the human body and labelling the basic body parts. We will be exploring things using our senses from touch to smell to hearing. We are also looking at the United Kingdom and learning about where we are in the world. Which countries make the UK? and what is the capital city of the UK?

What’s Been On

23rd September 2020

French Day and The Celebration of European Languages Day.

We were introducing ourselves to each other and pretended to have our own shops for others to visit. We said Bonjour – J’mapple (Name) – Au revoir and then moved onto another shop.

We counted to 10 and then learnt the days of the week. We finished off by learning Frere Jacques.
